How I reached 80 percent in organic traffic in a two days’ time

Organic traffic is really important for any blog or website. Well, we all know that. We all know Google and Bing, and their stringent algorithms that make it so tough for your website to crawl up there.

So, let us not spend more time on this analysis as to why organic traffic is important. Let me straight away tell you, how I managed to get huge amount of traffic over a very short span of time; by using some very easy but effective SEO tips.

The following 10 tips are instantly achievable. You do not need to know professional level SEO techniques or work all night to implement these –

Tip 1: Using proper keywords, but long tail ones are better for organic traffic

Keyword research and using research tools are recommended by several SEO experts and analysts. However, long tailed keyword concepts are only recommended by a few SEO persons. Well, I am one of them, because I have seen the magic of it myself.

Use your primary keyword more often in the page, but write it down in short sentences and phrases throughout the page – in such a form such that it makes more human sense.

The result is, when humans search long phrases in Google with this keyword, your website goes on top!

For example:

Very few people search like – cheap boots, good restaurant, html tutorial

Moreover, the above keyword have high competition.

Rather, you keep phrases and sentences in your webpage text body like – but cheap boots from Kolkata, India OR good restaurant that offers delivery at home OR html tutorial for a beginner

Tip 2: Optimizing ultimate speed for your website

Ultimate speed comes from some very basic things. If you are not sure, leave this for your webmaster.

If you are confident, go to Google speedtest. Google will list down for you all major ways that can help you reduce your website size. Most common ones are minify of JS, CSS and HTML. GZIP support of your website.

Optimize graphic usage by creating sprites and using fonts instead of images.

Website load time is a prime part of organic SEO

Tip 3: Using alt tags containing long tailed keywords in your images

Use long tail concepts in your alt tags also. Furthermore, always keep you alt tag words separated with hyphens; and nothing else. Search engines do not understand other delimiters.

Tip 4: Optimizing image sizes for better organic traffic

Optimizing images is another way of reducing website size. Whenever you upload images to your website or blog posts; first minify and then use your images.

You can either use Photoshop or some online resource like TinyPNG.

Tip 5: Using hashtags in SMM, especially in Google Plus shares

Google gives high preference to its own social networking website. SO use proper keywords and also long tail keywords while creating hashtags for your SMM shares.

Tip 6: Perfectly size URL and title for your webpage, but include the keyword!

URL size and title tag size in characters is very important. Google bots cut off any extra characters while reading your website content.

So, keep this mind while creating titles or URLs. It might happen so that your keyword is getting snapped off in SERPs.

Tip 7: While sharing your post, do so in relevant forums and blog comments

I use forums and guest commenting a lot. I am sure you know about this. You would be happy to learn that this is one of the most effective ways of marketing and creates high chances of getting high PR backlinks.

Moreover, this is a perfect white hat SEO technique. So, your website organic SEO would be boosted highly.

Search in Google on the topic that you just wrote. That’s it! Now you have some very relevant places where people have already visited and are still visiting.

Start sharing your link in these places. Either in the form of forum comments or blog comments; just share your URL. DO NOT SPAM. But, make your presence felt and let the existing readers (and also the ones that would come in the future) know that you have an article on a similar topic that might be interesting.

Tip 8: Request bloggers from the same domain to review and share your post

Manually connect with bloggers from the same industry. Request them to have a read and endorse your article.

They might mention you in their next post or in their social shares. This creates a huge boost!

Tip 9: Use your keywords at least in one H1 tag and two H2 tags in a webpage

Header tags are next to title tag and URL in terms of maing Google bots understand about your page.

So use your keyword in H1 and H2 tags especially. This gives a huge organic traffic boost.

Tip 10: Start internally linking your website / blog. Google loves it!

Internal links are very useful.

  • It helps increase traffic because your readers click them whenever they see these links in your article.
  • Also, Google bots travel more and more through your website content, and more frequently. The second point is more important. Because each time Google’s cache is refreshed for your website. This makes your website an active website in the eyes of Google bots!

Here are some more tips, which would require a bit more time to fetch results.

Tip 1: Re-design your website into a responsive one.

Google and Bing both love mobile friendly websites. Responsive websites rank way up in the first page of SERPs.

Pardon me, but I am still in the process of doing it for myself. You can do it immediately by getting some free WordPress responsive theme.

Tip 2: Register your website domain and domain hosting services for a long tenure.

This has a very positive effect on SERP algorithm bots. This tells the search engines that your website is not some spam or junk space on the internet; that would go down any time. Instead, search engines give preference, thinking that this website has some true purpose.

Tip 3: Try connecting with high PR websites. Either directly with the owner or through guest posts and blog commenting.

This is a tedious and high work of patience. Do not leave this at any point. High PR backlinks are the only way search engines will give you some sort of credit.

When high PR websites point at your website, search engines feel your content to be reliable enough for first page results.
